Discipline Code (Jordan Bank)
Jordan Bank Kindergarten Center
Discipline Plan
Our Philosophy:
At Jordan Bank, we believe behavior is learned. We work with families to teach, model, and support positive behavior so every child can feel safe and successful.
Our Jordan Bank School Expected Behaviors:
We use simple, school-wide expectations every day:
· Be Responsible – Follow directions, take care of materials
· Be Respectful – Use kind words and safe bodies
· Be Honest – Tell the truth and take responsibility
· Be Kind – Include and help others
· Always Give Your Best Effort – Try your hardest, even when it’s tough
You can support at home by talking about these expectations each day.
Our Jordan Bank School Goals:
· Teach expectations in all settings (classroom, cafeteria, playground, hallways, bus)
· Practice and model expected behaviors
· Celebrate students who follow the expectations
When Mistakes Happen:
Mistakes are part of learning. We respond by teaching and supporting. If behaviors are repeated or serious in nature, the principal will address with appropriate consequences.
🟡 YELLOW – STEP 1: TEACH & REDIRECT (First Occurrence)
· Remind student of expectations
· Model the correct behavior
· Give students a chance to practice
🟠ORANGE – STEP 2: PRACTICE & MINOR BEHAVIOR OR REPEATED BEHAVIOR
· Reteach expectation again
· Student completes reflection (talk/draw/discuss)
· Practice expected behavior
· Teacher contacts family
Possible Consequences at this step:
· Move desk
· Reset or break (in class or sensory room)
· Think Sheet
· Brief loss of privileges (center time, game, recess (walking the perimeter line of the playground not to exceed twice around, etc.)
🔴 RED – STEP 3: SAFTEY-BASED RESPONSE & MAJOR BEHAVIOR OR REPEATED BEHAVIOR
· Ensure immediate safety
· Office support
· Parent/guardian contact
· Develop individual behavior plan if needed
Possible Consequences at this step:
· Temporary removal from classroom
· Loss of privileges (center time, game, recess in the office, etc.)
· Detention (modified/age-appropriate)
· In-school suspension
· Out-of-school suspension
Bus Conduct Reports:
To ensure a safe and respectful bus environment, the following steps will be followed when bus conduct reports are issued:
• First Report: Warning
• Second Report: Loss of recess
• Third Report: Suspension of bus privileges for 3 days
*Important:
If a behavior violates the safety of the student or others, the administrator may immediately suspend bus privileges, regardless of prior reports.
